About the project
The Celtic Manor Resort is a five star golf and spa resort in South East Wales that hosted both the 2010 Ryder Cup and the NATO Summit in 2014. Celtic Manor approached Inspiretec to update their website and to re-vamp their booking journeys for accommodation and golf to suit their needs. Celtic Manor provided us with a strict style guide we had to adhere to, along with their suggestions for the layout of the booking journey. The project was complex in scope, and I worked very closely with developers in order to produce mock ups that not only matched their brand, but were functional and easy to use for a customer to use.

Designing the booking journey
One of the challenges of designing the booking journey for Celtic Manor was the amount of choice the user had; a customer could choose a range of hotels within the chain at various board rates (Room Only, Bed & Breakfast, Bed & Breakfast and dinner.) We proposed a tab system that would default to the most popular board rate, and stacked the hotels in a way that the client preferred. UX testing showed that this manner was simple and clear to the user.
